Part Seven

As Himiko’s laughter died down, Ban began to breathe again and Shido pulled himself back into his seat. Shido and Ban blinked at the four pairs of eyes that stared them down as if to say ‘WELL?!’

“Ummm...”

“So what if we did?” Shido said, admittedly a bit harshly. “What business is it of yours?”

Natsumi grinned. “I win! Pay up!”

“WHAT?!” Ban snarled as Himiko and Paul grumbled and gave her money. “You were betting on us?!”

“If you had held out for another month I would’ve won.” Himiko grumbled. Natsumi laughed and served the three boys their breakfasts. “I’m gonna go, I have another job lined up. Bye!” Himiko walked out with a jaunty wave and a smirk Shido would’ve sworn was one of Ban’s.

Shido glared at Paul and Natsumi. “What was the bet?”

“When you two would finally give in and get together. My bet was that it would never happen. Natsumi bet that would happen sometime in between three days ago and next Friday. Himiko said it would happen closer to the end of next month. Something about an anniversary.”

Ban scowled at them. “I hate you all. Ginji, were you in on this?!”

“No, Ban-chan! I didn’t know anything about it!”

Shido watched as Ban met Ginji’s eyes and gave a small sigh of defeat. “No, you wouldn’t have done something like that.”

Hevn slammed the door open. “Ban-kun! Shido-kun! I was worried about you two! Are you two alright? Physical damage? Psychologically scarred? Anything?”

“They slept together. Pay up, Hevn.”

“REALLY?!” Hevn looked from Ban to Shido and smirked. “Who was on top, though?”

Ban made a strangled noise and Shido’s eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. “What?” Ban’s voice cracked.

“The second half of the bet was which on of you would be on top.”

Shido blinked at them, not sure whether he should be horrified, homicidal, or flattered that they actually spent this much time on he and Ban. A quick glance at Ban's face clearly stated Ban was going for the homicidal option, so Shido stuck with horrified.

“Well? Who was on top?”

Ban was slowly going to a shade of deep red. “It’s none of your business!”

Hevn and Natsumi glanced at each other. “Shido was.” they said in unison as Ban attempted to muffle a scream of indigination.

“I win again!” Natsumi giggled.

Ban glared at Natsumi and Hevn and then at his food.

Shido blinked as the money was exchanged again. “Don’t you people have lives?”

“Yes, but they’re not as interesting as yours are.”

“Ah.”

Ban, Shido and Ginji ate their breakfast in silence as Hevn and Natsumi chatted a bit more, then Hevn departed. That’s when Ban rose from the counter and took a cup of coffee with him to one of the booths. Shido and Ginji glanced at each other and followed.
