Was it a Good Dream?

Author: Kyuu
Rating: G
Genre: Vague Shounen Ai. Drabble. One-shot.
Status: Complete.
Pairing: Ban + Ginji.
Summary: Ginji sees a dream.

It was warm. That light embrace. It was very warm, and something about that arm slung over his shoulders like that, it made him smile and curl into that warm while his partner drove.

It was warm, that voice against his ear every so softly, almost sadly.

"Just a moment..."

And then, Ginji was stood over-looking the rushing traffic roaring under the bridge below. He was somewhere, somewhere between Amano Ginji, and the escaping ruler of Mugenjou, Raitei.

"...did you see a dream...?"

He couldn't turn, he just heard that lighter click, like he'd heard it a thousand times over. And slowly, ever so slowly, he looked towards the voice, and the noise, and saw what in the pit of his very being he was afraid to see.

Midou Ban. The man with the evil eye, stood about seven feet away from him, his hair slipped against the sides of his face, his eyes closed and his clothing light, white, soft looking. Clothes of his youth, from the early days of knowing his partner.

"...dream...?" Ginji's voice was so quiet, so very, very faint. Did he even speak.

Slowly, Ban looked at him once more "...just one moment, but to a mind the time span can be limitless. Did you have a good dream?"

If Ginji could, he would have torn that man apart. That life, a dream? Was all that happiness and hardship nothing more than something pulled together in the blink of those blue eyes before him?

Of course, he would rip him apart, but the weight of the world fell on his shoulders, dragged him down, pulled him sharply to his knees to let the tears flow free down his cheeks.

"...Ban-chan..."

And then, there was a hand upon his shoulder, and he was met with those warm blue eyes, and a faint smile.

"...let's live that dream again, you and I...and not wake up this time..."
