Ban and Ginji had an arrangement. It wasn't a relationship, because
neither wanted to actually put a label on something that was so
indescribable to anyone that wasn't them, but it wasn't an affair, because,
really, who were they cheating on? The two men that they really did
want to be with and had no chance with because they were so irredeemably
straight? So it was an arrangement. They'd fuck when either was horny, or
cuddle and pet when either needed comfort. Not that Ban ever admitted he
needed comfort. Not out loud, at least, because Ginji could read him in
every single way that not even Yamato could, so Ban never really had to say
anything and Ginji would know what he wanted/needed/was thinking because
that was the way things were. Ban could read Ginji just as well, but then
again, who couldn't? Ginji was as open and honest with everyone they met as
he was with Ban. Well, maybe not because Ban doubted Ginji would ever fist
his hands in someone else's hair and purr, yes purr in their ear all
the things he was going to do to them that night and move his hands just
so, just enough to have Ban panting and wanting and
not-quite-begging-but-close-enough. Well, not so. Ginji would do that with
Emishi, if he thought his advances would get him anywhere. Ban thought
Emishi would sprawl naked on his back in a heartbeat if Ginji ever actually
said anything to him about it, but Ginji would never say anything, because
Ginji didn't know if his affections would be welcomed, or returned, and he'd
rather suffer in silence than lose a friend. Ban thought this was silly, and
told Ginji so many times, but Ginji would give him a look (because
Ginji's eyes were so expressive even if he never said another word the rest
of his life, everyone would still know what he was thinking), and tell him
he was being stupid as well, because it's not like he even had a
relationship with Shido that he'd have to worry about losing if he even
hinted that he thought the man was gorgeous. Ban always pointed out that
they did have a strange sort of respect for each other and he wasn't
particularly fond of the idea of killing the Monkey Tamer so he could save
face, and the rest of the world would never know that the great Mido
Ban-sama had laid his heart out of the table and had gotten it chewed up,
spat out and pissed on, then laughed at. Ginji always shook his head,
muttering that Ban-chan was being stupid again and would fall asleep, since
they always managed to have these talks after sex when both were satiated
and drowsy.
Ban is always shocked when Ginji starts putting the moves on him, because
Ginji was such a physical person where Ban was not and Ban would always give
a small jump, trying to override his first instinct to attack when Ginji
would come up behind him, placing his hands on Ban's hips and attacking
Ban's throat with lips, teeth, and tongue. Ban always knew it was Ginji,
though, so when he felt hands on his hips, he was startled, mostly because
they were not Ginji's hands and he moved to attack when he felt lips
by his ear.
"I've decided to stop waiting for your first move, Snake Bastard." Shido's
voice washed over Ban's senses and he was torn between melting against the
strong body at his back, and running away as fast was his legs could carry
him. "Ginji told me about your little arrangement, and has given me
his blessing to make my move." Ban was still frozen to the spot as Shido
pulled Ban against his chest, nuzzling his neck and the soft skin behind his
ear. "That is, if you were willing. Are you willing?" Ban turned in Shido's
arms and looked him in the eye (through his glasses, of course). Seeing the
vulnerability in Shido's eyes that you just can't fake, Ban brows
drew together. Then he smiled.
And Shido kissed him.
Ginji is never shocked when Ban wants sex. Mostly because Ban had a
different walk for it. Most people wouldn't notice it, but Ban's
stride was more controlled, more tightly coiled power behind his movements
than usual, as if he was stopping himself from running full tilt to Ginji.
Ginji is always kind of amused by Ban's need to hide things that could make
him seem weak. Things like affection, desperation, or lust. So Ginji would
wait, watching Ban watch him, a smile on his face and open arms as Ban would
kiss him breathless, and Ginji would practically taste how much Ban would
need this in it, because Ban always pushed aside his body's urges for
trivial things like sex. Ginji sometimes thought that Ban was repressed
period, but he blamed that on Ban's childhood, growing up to believe he was
nothing more than a monster and deserved nothing, which was why Ban clung
tightly to everything he did have, baring his proverbial fangs to those who
would try to take it away. This is why Ginji was confused when he saw Emishi
walking to him in almost the same manner as Ban, only different, because
this was Emishi and Ban was Ban and neither was the other.
"I heard from Shido-han about your, uh, arrangement with Ban-kun."
Ginji smiled a little sheepishly at this and nodded. "So, I, uh..." Emishi
suddenly buried his hands in Ginji's hair and kissed him, and Ginji's hands
flew up to Emishi's face, resting lightly on his cheeks.
"Emi-Emishi..." Ginji was stunned and breathless when the kiss broke, a
blush creeping across his and Emishi's cheeks. "You-"
"I mean, I always thought that you and Ban were together and were totally
into each other and I never thought I could even get close enough to do
that, but then Shido told me that you and Ban weren't in love and were just
really close and stuff and I figured if I didn't make my move now I'd never
be able to and-" Emishi's words were cut off when Ginji placed a finger on
his lips, smiling as he leaned in to kiss him.
Ginji never did like talking when action was needed.
Emishi Haruki always wondered how Amano Ginji would taste. Would it be sweet, like candy and sunshine? Would it be spicy, like cinnamon, or nutmeg? Or would it be coppery, like the nine volt battery he once stuck his tongue into when he was seven, just to see? Emishi wondered if Ginji would mewl and keen as Emishi ran his tongue along his spine, tasting sweat and skin and something that is pure Ginji, be it sweet, spicy, coppery, or something else. Emishi once wondered if Ginji would tie him up with his own whip and make him beg like one of the dogs Shido chats with.
